Service Description

The sidemount diver course is designed for scuba divers who want to experience a new dimension in underwater diving. Typically, divers wear a single tank on their backs; however, the sidemount diving configuration is where divers wear one or two tanks on their sides. The sidemount rig offers many advantages such as greater flexibility, streamlining, and less strain on the back. The course focuses on teaching the students the necessary skills to configure, assemble, and use a sidemount scuba diving system safely. The course topics include equipment setup, techniques for donning and doffing sidemount tanks, correct weighting and trim, and emergency response to sidemount equipment malfunctions. It generally takes 1-2 days to complete the sidemount diver course. However, divers must be certified as an Open Water Diver or equivalent and have a minimum of logged dives to participate.
