The advanced recreational trimix instructor course is designed for experienced recreational trimix divers who want to instruct others in the techniques and skills required for safe and enjoyable trimix diving. This course covers advanced gas planning and analysis, equipment considerations, emergency procedures, and teaching methods. To qualify for the course, you must be an open water scuba instructor or equivalent and have a minimum of 100 logged dives, including at least 30 dives deeper than 30 meters (100 feet) using trimix. You must also hold a valid advanced nitrox and decompression procedures certification, as well as a certified diver level certification from a recognized technical diving organization. The course typically takes several days to complete and includes both classroom and practical training sessions. Upon successful completion, you will be authorized to teach advanced recreational trimix courses and certify students who meet the course requirements. It's important to note that trimix diving involves additional risks and requires specialized training and equipment. As an instructor, it's your responsibility to ensure that your students are adequately prepared and capable of handling the challenges of trimix diving.
